In the sprinkling of islands that sit in the shadow of Makatoa Volcano is this unnamed pirate island. Reefs around it make it accessible only by row boat. The pirates always leave two members to guard their treasure. Along with a month’s worth of supplies, they’re dropped off naked and picked up the same way to ensure they carry nothing off with them. The island has one permanent resident, old Wicked Eye Pete.
His pirate retirement plan is watching the treasure, since “the safest person with your money is the one who can’t spend it,” as the saying goes. Too old to sail, Pete still has most of his eyesight, and you can see him sitting on top of the island’s rickety old makeshift tower in the southeast corner, watching for unwanted guests.
