This post is going to be a little different. The primary map making software we use has a number of different main biomes (forest, grasslands, desert, etc) and each has a number of height options (flat, hills, mountains, etc) and each of those has a number of different water options (dry, river, flooded, etc) and each of those has a number of vegetation options (barren, forest, clearing, etc). Doing the math puts it all at more than 800 different combination
That’s a lot of maps!!!
But we’ve decided to get rid of any spare time we may have and make 50×50 maps of each of these combinations so you can have all your outdoor scenes ready to go! To do that, we’re going to release them in stages. The first will be basic outdoor maps with no height, no water, and no vegetation (so flat, dry, and empty). Everyone will have access to the smaller scale images, and our Patreon patrons will have access to larger scale images. It’s a lot of work, but our higher level Patrons will even have access to different versions with different lighting (so now we’re at thousands of maps).
Our first group is being released today for free for both small and large maps, for everyone! So click those links and download those maps while you can. Eventually, the larger maps will only be for Patreon Patrons or those that donate via Ko-fi.
